Behavioral Engagement: How Can You Measure It?

Employee engagement is a relatively new construct in academia and has received considerable press attention. Employee engagement is linked to positive business unit outcomes such as profitability, productivity, employee turnover rate, satisfaction, customer loyalty, and safety. The objectives of this study are to propose and validate the reliability of a behavioral employee engagement scale. The proposed scale (α = 0.908) is negatively related to turnover intention and positively associated with employee safety grade, willingness to recommend organization as a place for work and care, and workplace safety. . Therefore, the proposed scale is posited to be valid and reliable.
